Blog Train Coming Through

This month's blog train at Stuff to Scrap is called "Because I Said So." I wasn't sure I was going to participate because although I loved the colors nothing jumped into my head as to what to do with them that fit the theme. "Because I Said So" is supposed to be a tribute to mothers so I finally got inspired to make some word art. Then I made a couple papers and added two flowers. This month's kit from me is small but I hope you can find it useful when combined with the rest of the kits that you will pick up. Here's a preview of my mini kit.

Before you download my portion and move on with the train, would you please scroll down to my previous post and vote for me before Saturday evening? Thanks so much!!

Color Challenge

Brownie Scraps has an Unbaked Brownie Challenge every month. Each month you are provided with a color palette and you can either create a mini kit, paper pack, element pack, alpha, etc or create a layout using the mini kits provided. I liked the color palette this month but it wasn't inspiring me to create a mini kit. I didn't have a theme. Finally I just decided to make a flowery swirly kit. So I call this kit "Flowers and Swirls." Here's a preview of the kit.You can download this freebie mini kit HERE. I'd love to see what you create with my kit.

Last minute

I'm sorry I didn't blog about this earlier in the month! I'm on the Quick Page team at Digital Scrap Cafe and that means I make 2 quick pages with their montly collaboration kit. These quick pages get bundled together and given away with a $10 purchase. The collab this month is called Spring Garden and it has bright colors plus black. It really looks like a garden! Here's what the kit looks like. The preview doesn't show everything, this kit is HUGE!!!

Here is a preview of the quick pages that you get free with a $10 purchase. Mine are in the 3rd row, the 2nd and 3rd ones. Aren't all of them pretty?
I used the kit Spring Garden to do a scraplift challenge at Digital Scrap Cafe. It was such a fun layout to scraplift because it had so many squares scattered around on 2 sides of the page. I thought it was going to be hard to scraplift but it really wasn't. I threw some squares on the page and then moved them around after I had clipped paper to them. I really love how this layout turned out.

This offer is only good to the end of the month which is coming up quickly so head over to Digital Scrap Cafe to get these QPs free with a $10 purchase at the store.

Speed Scrap

There's a speed scrap at Stuff to Scrap on Friday night. I should be able to attend because my husband won't be home!!! Check out the details. I totally want that participation prize!!

I participated in a speed scrap today. Luckily my babies cooperated and stayed asleep for the first 45 minutes of it. Too bad my internet didn't cooperate for the first 10 minutes! But I managed to get it done. I wanted to play with a new kit during the speed scrap so I took a look through The Scrappy Kat's store and found this goregous kit called "Country Cottage." Here's a preview of the kit. Isn't it absolutely beautiful???
Here's the layout that I made during the speed scrap. I am particularly proud of my clustering! I think this layout turned out fantastic if I do say so myself!

I may decide to give it away as a freebie QP so stay tuned!

Retro

I'm big into all things retro right now, not sure why. I'm just drawn to those colors and elements so when I saw "Retro" in Marni Designs' store I knew I needed to work with it. I just adore the colors: bright aqua and bright orange. I didn't have great photos to go with the kit but I think my layouts turned out well. Here's what the kit looks like, fun, huh?

And here are my layouts. This kit was so easy to work with. These layouts came together in a snap!

Head over to Marni Designs' store to pick up this fun retro kit!

Two Brand Newbies

I have two new kits to tell you about today. One of them is a new kit by Scraps by Andrea. It's called Springy Thingies. It has beautiful colors in it that would work for many types of photos. It also has really cute little bugs and other animals in it. It'll be a perfect kit when my kids get a little older and start interacting with animals a little more! Here's a preview of this kit.

Here's the layout that I made of my kids taking a wheelbarrow ride which they just loved! I've made this layout into a freebie QP for you so just keep on reading and you'll find the link.

The next kit I have to tell you about is called Ambience by Digi Designs by Nicole. It's a change from the last kit that I showed you by Nicole. This one has more muted colors and is more adult-like. No worries though, I still managed to scrap kids' pictures with it. I actually scrapped a fall layout with it because it reminded me of fall colors. Here's a preview of the kit.

Here's my layout that I made. Isn't it cute? I had a hard time with the title because I don't call my son "pumpkin," that's what I called my daughter when she was just born. I couldn't come up with a better title. If you have an idea, let me know!

Finally here's the preview for the freebie QP that I have for you which you can download HERE. Don't forget to head over to Digi Designs by Nicole's store and Scraps by Andrea's store to pick up these 2 new kits.

Tutti Frutti?

I wanted to participate in the Word of the Week Challenge at Stuff to Scrap and this week's word was "Garden." I had the perfect pictures of my son in my garden playing with a daffodil. But I didn't have the right kit for it. I went to The Scrappy Kat's store and found her kit called Tutti Frutti. It had the perfect colors for my pictures but the only elements were fruit and I didn't need fruit for my layout! No problemo! I just used the papers to make my layout more interesting. Here's my layout.

Weren't the colors just perfect for these pictures? Here's a preview of the kit. See lots of fruit and some great ribbon and frames!

As you may notice there is no ric rac. Well I found a great tutorial on how to make ric rac out of ribbbon. I didn't use ribbon, I just used a black layer and then clipped the red paper to it. The papers in this kit are fabulous! You could make your layouts fun with cutting the papers into fun shapes. I made this into a freebie QP for you. Here's the preview.

You can download it here. Head over to The Scrappy Kat's store to pick up this kit.

There's a Speed Scrap at Stuff to Scrap on Tuesday. I totally spaced out and missed yesterday's! Hopefully I'll be able to attend Tuesdays. Here are the details and participation prize.

More Layouts with Just 1 Kit

So I wrote before that there was a contest to see how many layouts you could make with Spri-ster by Marni Designs and Scrappin Daisies, one of the Brownie Scraps April Addicts kit. I have some tough competition! As soon as I think I'm ahead, someone else posts a layout to tie it up or go past me! Here are more layouts I made with this kit.
The above layout was made with a template by Punky Princess Scraps. I just loved the one photo of my son studing the tulip becasue it looks like he was deeply pondering it. The next layout is also made with a template by Punky Princess Scraps.

The above layout was made with a template by A Work in Progress and the next one is a template by Marni Designs.

Phew, that was a lot of layouts and I'm not done! I'm tied right now for first place so I need to make more so I can win!

A Sale

Just so you know Scraps by Andrea is having a sale. This is a great deal! Check out the flyer and then head over to her store to pick up her kits while they are on sale.

Surprise!

Marni Designs just released a brand new kit yesterday. She had shown her creative team the preview and given us the links just a couple days before and said the release date was the 30th of April. Well surprise, the kit was released yesterday! I had one layout done and then I hurried up and made another one. So now I'm ready to show off this kit! The kit is called "Pink Lemonade." Here's a preview.
You can pick up this kit at Marni Design's store at Brownie Scraps. Here are my layouts that I made. I just love how the first one turned out! I'm so proud of my clustering, it's more than I usually do!

Also, just to let you know there's a speed scrap at Stuff to Scrap tomorrow. Here are the details and the participation prize.

New release from JW DigiScraps

JW DigiScraps has a brand new kit in store today called Child's Song. It's a perfect kit for those pictures of your kids playing musical instruments. It's bright and colorful and has fun musical elements. I didn't have any pictures of my kids with musical instruments (even though their daddy is a band director!) since they are a little too little to play with them. I scrapped a great picture of my niece with maracas. It happens to be a Cinco de Mayo picture but it worked great with this kit! Here's a preview of the kit.

Here's my layout that I made.

I made my layout into a freebie QP for you. You can download it HERE.

That's Groovy

The Scrappy Kat has a fun kit in her store called That's Groovy Baby. The colors in this kit really drew me to it. The papers are just so fun and it has such groovy retro elements! Here's a preview of the kit.

Here's a layout that I made using this kit. I tried something different. I put my cluster on the top of the photo instead of the bottom. Do you like it there? I also turned this LO into a freebie QP for you.

New release from Just Jaimee and a sneak peek

Just Jaimee has such a cute new kit out! It's called Just for Jamie Cupcake Sweetie. The colors are so pretty and there are cute cupcake elements. If you don't have baking pictures, that's OK, you can still scrap with this kit! I actually scrapped swimming pictures of my daughter. Just Jaimee opened a new store at Scrapable this weekend but this kit is only available right now at her Divine Digital store. Here's a look at this kit.

Here's the layout that I made using this kit. I'm in love with using square outlines recently! I just can't get enough of them!

This kit was really fun to play with. Don't be surprised if you see more layouts with this kit!

JW DigiScraps has a new kit coming out on Thursday. Right now she's taking comments on her blog about what you would scrap with this kit and someone will win this kit! Head on over to her blog to enter to win!

I'll be back on Thursday to show you this kit in full and to give away a free QP!

New releases galore!

Oh my heavens, I have so many new kits to tell you about! It seems like half of the designers I CT for have new releases out today! I don't even know where to start! (It also appears like I'm addicted to exclamation marks). I'll start with the kit that I finished work with first.

Becky Young Designs has a brand new kit out called "My Mother." This kit is beautiful! The colors are perfect to scrap pictures of your mom or pretty much anything feminine. Here's what the kit looks like.

I actually made 3 layouts with this kit to show you. Two of them are using the template from Stuff To Scrap's Template Challenge. The template is from Digital Scrap Fun. These 2 layouts using the template is a double page spread showing pictures of my mom and my twins. The other layout is of my first mother's day.

Head on over to Becky Young's store to pick up this gorgeous kit!

The next layouts I completed were for a kit called "Happy Monsters" by Scraps by Andrea. This kit is so fun and whimsical. It is a perfect kit for any little kid! Andrea even has a small add on that includes some word arts and one of them says "Mommy's Little Monster." I so wanted to use that one but I didn't have the right picture. Instead I used "Daddy's Little Monster." I had so much fun playing with this kit! Here's a preview of this kit.

Here are the layouts I made. The first one I made during a speed scrap. One of the instructions was to use 4-6 flowers. Well, this kit has NO flowers! So I made a monster cluster instead. I have a freebie cluster frame for you using elements from this kit!

Here's a preview of your freebie. You'll have to keep reading to find the link to this freebie!

Go over to Scraps by Andrea's store to pick up this really fun kit!

Next, I have a new release for you from Digi Designs by Nicole. (I joined another CT! I know I said I was done but I could not pass up this opportunity!) Digi Designs by Nicole teamed up with Growing Pains Scrapped to create a baby kit called "Baby of Mine." The best thing (well actually there are tons of things I could say are the BEST thing) is that this kit works for both boys and girls. So if you are like me and have both a boy and a girl you can just buy 1 kit and scrap both their pictures! This kit has such cute baby elements and fun papers in it. Here's a preview.

I actually have 3 layouts to show you for this kit too. I just couldn't stop using it! I used it for 2 different challenges at Stuff to Scrap. One was the recipe challenge and the other one was for the theme challenge. The theme challenge was to scrap about beginnings. I kind of picked an obvious beginning! The recipe challenge called for 10 papers. That was a challenge!

This last layout used a template from Digi Designs by Nicole's Template Temptation Vol. 7. I love using templates when scrapping and these templates were so easy to use. Check out all the fun templates you'll get with this set.

Don't wait to grab this kit and the new templates from Digi Designs by Nicole's store!

Last but certainly not least is The Scrappy Kat. Earlier she released a kit called "Steampunk." Since this kit was so popular she decided to do an add on. I did not have the chance to work with either the main kit or the add on but I wanted to show you the preview of what is being released today.

Go over to The Scrappy Kat's store to pick up this add on and the full kit.

And now, without further ado, I have the link for you to the Happy Monsters cluster frame freebie. You can download it HERE. Thanks for taking the time to read all the way down to the bottom!
