I've been thinking about doing the song lyric challenge at Stuff to Scrap for a couple months but I just couldn't figure out how to use the songs before. Well this month Beth from Designs by Sweet Mesquite was in charge of this challenge and chose the song "In My Daughter's Eyes" by Martina McBride. I haven't heard the song but when I read the lyrics I immediately knew what I was going to scrap. The lyrics to this song are so beautiful and I honestly had tears in my eyes creating this layout. This page is so different than what I normally scrap but I didn't think the page needed anything more but the beauty of the picture and the lyrics.
This picture was taken when my daughter was about a month and a half old. She had a horrible skin rash on her face and she looked pretty awful. This picture in color wasn't great (strange color combinations) but it's one I have loved for a long time. I just love the expression on her face, staring at daddy with wonderment and awe and her daddy looking back at her with love. It was a priceless moment to capture. Once I started scrapping it and blended it into the paper, the photo all of a sudden looked so much better. I turned the photo to sepia and voila it is a perfect picture, good bye skin rash!
I was going to make some of the words a different color but instead I chose to highlight words by making them larger. I read through the lyrics, picked the most significant ones and made those bigger. I added just a few elements. I absolutely LOVE this page! I hope you do too.
She looks like she knows exactly what he is saying! Great pic! Thanks for sharing!
