Blossom

Shel Belle Scraps has released a new kit called "Blossom." I've been dying for a really girly kit and I sure got my wish with this kit! Although when I told Shel that she said she didn't intend for it to be super girly! This kit has bright pinks and purples in it and I just love it! When I showed my husband one of the layouts I did with the kit his comment was "that's a lot of pink!" I just loved working with this kit and I'm sure you'll love it too. Here's a preview of the kit.

Isn't it gorgeous! So perfect for all those girl pictures you have. Here are my layouts with this kit. I bet you can guess which one I showed to my husband that lead to his really pink comment! :) Head on over to Shel Belle Scraps' store to pick up this kit.

Monday Release Day

I have 4 new kits to tell you about today (well maybe 5 depending on when one of the designers decides to blog about her new kit). One of the new releases is a baseball kit that was created for son's t-ball games. Gettin Scrappy with Britt is releasing her new kit called "Home Run" today. This kit has all the baseball elements you want in it! Since my kids are just 1 and not playing baseball yet, I made a page that isn't baseball themed. You certainly can scrap other pages with this kit. Take a look at my layout and take a peek at the kit.

I made a freebie cluster frame for you using elements from this kit. I didn't use any baseball items so you can use this frame for any purpose! Here's a look at the frame.

You can download this Home Run frame here.

Becky Young Designs has a brand new kit in store called "May Flowers." This kit is packed full of flowers and who doesn't love flowers???? This kit was beautiful to work with. I made a layout for the scraplift challenge at Stuff to Scrap with this kit as well as a layout of my niece. Here are my layouts (the first one is the one for the scraplift challenge).

Here's a look at the kit. Head on over to Becky Young's store to pick up this beautiful kit.

The Scrappy Kat got together with Growing Pains Scrapped to make a kit called "Midnight in the Garden." The kit was inspired by the gardens in the south (which are just gorgeous!) and all the wought iron you see there and garden statues. Both designers have their own kit (this kit isn't one huge one sold together), so you can pick up one, or the other, or both! Here are the previews of their kits.

Here is a layout I made with these kits. This shows the garden that is just for my kids! They just love playing in their own garden.

I made this layout into a freebie QP for you! You can dowload this freebie QP here. Don't forget to head over to The Scrappy Kat's store to pick up her part of this kit.

Phew. Now we're onto the last release of today (at least for the morning!) Digi Designs by Nicole is released a bright kit today! This kit is called "Get Wild and Crazy" and boy let me tell you these colors are wild! I just loved working with the bright pink in this kit! I normally don't use a lot of black in my layouts for either of my kids but it worked so well in this layout. Here's a peek at my layout.

Here is what the kit looks like. Fun, huh? This kit would work perfectly for so many great photos. Head on over to Nicole's store to pick up this kit.

New collab

The designers at Digital Scrap Cafe put together a great collab this month. It's called "Boyish" and is perfect for all those little boy pictures you have. Here's a preview of this collab.

If you spend $10 or more (and you do not need to buy the collab, you can buy anything in the store) you get the quickpages for Boyish free. Here are the QP preview. Mine is the first one and the one under it.
I loved working with it and I've had the opportunity to make another layout with this kit just today for the template challenge at DSC. They have a new template challenge every Friday! You should check it out if you like templates. This template was from Aprilisa Designs and I just love it because it has non rectangular paper pieces and that's not something I can do with Photoshop Elements. At least I haven't figured out how to do it yet! Here's the layout that I made.

Speed Scraps!

Flower Scraps is hosting a Speed Scrap tonight!! The participation prize will be an un-released QP pack! Come and play and have fun with up and get a great prize for doing it!
Since Stuff to Scrap has been having 3 speed scraps a week (Love it!) I've been participating in a lot of them! I also have been doing a couple at Brownie Scraps but I never can finish in time because I join late! Here are some layouts that I've made recently during speed scraps.
The above layout was made using April Showers by Becky Young Designs. Our directions were to make 3 photos black and white and use 4 papers that were the same color. I really struggled to find the right pictures and kit. But once I found this one and did sepia and brown rather than black and white photos with a white or black background, I loved the monochromatic look. This next two layouts were done for speed scraps at Brownie Scraps. For the first one we were doing a 50/50 speed scrap which meant you had to use 2 kits and use each one equally. Boy this was tough for me! I used Flutterbye Faery Designs' kit called Giggles (which by the way I cannot get enough of!!) and Scrappin Daisies' kit called "So Girly Add On." This add on is not an add on, it's a whole kit in itself! I just love how this layout came together but I didn't finish this one in time :( The layout under this one is also done using Giggles. See I told you I couldn't get enough of it! I had a hard time with this one because I don't do circle photos well. I just don't know how to place them on a page! But I think in the end it turned out well!

I just love The Fragrance of Flowers kit by Digi Designs by Nicole so when I got it I had to find a use for it! I thought it worked well with the photo I took of my daughter at the Botanic Gardens. I had so much fun using this kit but I couldn't get my squares/rectangles under my photo just right. I still think the layout turned out well! Gettin Scrappy with Britt hosted the last speed scrap at Stuff to Scrap. She threw us for a loop when the first step was to do selective coloring. What you do is duplicate your photo, turn the top one to black and white and then erase parts of it to show the color underneath. It took me a while to pick a picture. Then it took me forever to get the circles under the photo and the paper strips just right. I really hated my layout for a while. But then I adjusted some things to make the layout just right. I used the Stuff to Scrap April BlogTrain called "Spring Picnic." These colors were just gorgeous and matched with the tulips!

Boy I'm wordy today! Here is my last layout to show you that I made during a speed scrap. This speed scrap at Brownie Scraps was different. You were given a menu and you had to pick your courses. Then the hostess came back and told you what you were scrapping with. So I was dining with 3 people (so I got 3 pictures), started with a salad (7 papers!!!), and I can't remember exactly what else I had but I had to use 9 elements, cluster my elements around my photos and use strong tones. I would have finished in time but my kids were being a little fussy! Since I didn't finish in time, I decided to take even more time and change this into a two page spread. The left side is what I did for the actual speed scrap. I also did this layout for the motto challenge at Stuff to Scrap. The motto they chose was the Weight Watcher's motto: "Watch Yourself Change." We took pictures of our twins on their month birthdays in the same outfit (until they outgrew it). This kit is Pocket Full of Posies by Scrappin Daisies.

Moody Blues

I was in the mood for something different this month for my freebie QPs at Digital Scrap Cafe and I came across Moody Blues by Double Dutch Designs and I knew I wanted to play with it! This kit has beautiful papers in a couple shades of aqua blue and also black and white. I just love these papers! The elements are fun too but I didn't use too many because the papers spoke for themselves! Take a look at this kit.
Here's my layout. It's a diferent style for me too! I just started cutting up paper and layering them. I think it turned out really cute. And I think it worked well for the picture that I chose.

Here's my freebie QP preview. You can download it HERE. Head on over to Digital Scrap Cafe to pick up this kit.

Monday Releases

It seems like most of the designers I work for release their kits on Mondays. I should rename Monday as Release Day! I have several kits to tell you about today. They are all so fun, I don't know where to start!

Digi Designs by Nicole has a new kit out today called "I Scream." It's a kit dedicated to ice cream. Who doesn't love ice cream? My kids certainly love ice cream (although they haven't had it very often and they did not like peach ice cream!) I took them to Culvers to get pictures just to use with this kit! I guess I needed an excuse for some ice cream! Anyways, back to the kit. This kit has soft pinks, aquas and beiges in it. It'll work perfectly for boys or girls! Take a look at the kit.

Here's a layout that I made with this kit. I made this layout for the Recipe Challenge at Stuff to Scrap. This challenge is where they give you a list of things you must include in your layout. Head on over to Nicole's store to pick up this kit!

I actually was able to make another layout at a speed scrap on Saturday morning. I created the word art myself during the speed scrap. That was a neat twist to a speed scrap!
The Scrappy Kat got together with Mommy Me Time Scrapper to create a kit for all those newborn baby photos you may have and also pregnancy photos. Their kit is called "Labor of Love." I love baby kits that aren't gender specific since I have twins, a boy and a girl. It makes it easier for me to scrap when the kit contains both pink and blue! This kit has all the pastel colors you need and is packed full of cute baby elements! Here's a peek at the kit.

I really love my layout that I made with this kit because I think it speaks so much of the love you feel when you have a newborn baby (or two in my case). I hope you like my layout too. Don't forget to head over to The Scrappy Kat's store to pick up this kit.

If you buy this huge kit, you can use this coupon code to get either the cardstock pack or the polka dot cardstock pack for free! Here's the coupon code:LOL_FREEPAPERPACK

Scraps by Andrea has done it again! She has a beautiful new kit out called "Color My World." This kit is full of rainbow colors and is a huge kit! I just loved scrapping with this kit. The preview only shows solid color papers but there are pattern papers in there too! You'll see several of them in my layouts. Here are my layouts. I made the first one for the word of the week challenge at Stuff to Scrap. The word was "flowers." I knew what pictures to use because we had visited the Chicago Botanic Gardens just a few days before and the flowers were in full bloom. Once I saw this kit, I knew it would work perfectly with my photos. The tulips worked so well with the yellows, reds and greens in this kit.

I also made my second layout into a freebie quickpage for you. Here's the preview of my quick page. You can download my quickpage HERE. Head over to Scraps by Andrea's store to pick up this kit!

Another color challenge

I also participated in the Stuff to Scrap Color Challenge this month and made a mini kit for you. The colors were quite different than the colors at Brownie Scraps! These colors are very soft. I called my mini kit "Gentle Spring." I filled my kit with real flowers from Just Jaimee. She has some great commercial use flowers and leaves in her store at Divine Digital. Here's a preview of her flowers and leaves. Just Jaimee has great commercial use items in her store. You should check them out! Here's my freebie mini kit that I created. I hope you like it. Please let me see whatever layout you make with it! Also post your layout at Stuff to Scrap because you'll get points for completing challenges!

You can download this kit here.

Kelcey made a comment on my portion of the STS Blog Train Because I Said So and mentioned that it would be helpful to have the word "mum" included as word art. So I made up a word art to match my other word arts. I added the "mama" for other cultures but forgot about "mum." So sorry! If I forgot others just let me know. You can download this WA HERE. I did upload it on my blog as a png file so you can see if you can just right click and save as but I'm not sure that will work.

Happy Mother's Day today to those who celebrate Mother's Day today.

Juicy!

JW DigiScraps has a brand new kit out. She is a guest designer at Digital Scrapbooking Studio better know as The Studio. This kit is a collab with mISTYBELLE Designs. The kit is called "Juicy." It has some fruity elements and cute little ants. It would be perfect for a picnic layout but works well for so many other things too! Take a look at this kit.You can only get this kit at The Studio right now. You can grab it HERE. Here are a couple layouts that I made with this kit.

Brownie Supreme

I've got some news! I'm one of the new Brownie Supremes over at Brownie Scraps! That basically means I'm a creative member for the store. I'm so excited about this because I get to work with all the designers there! The first kit that I worked with was Flutterbye Faery Designs' newest kit called "SWAK." Now I bet you are wondering what SWAK stands for! I was too! It stands for Sealed With A Kiss. Now that might give you a better idea of what is in this kit. The kit has some vintage elements and papers and few items that have postmarks and things like that on it. Take a look at this beauty.

This layout that I made came together so easily! I just loved the frame and instead of using two pictures I kept one side for journaling. I really like how that looks! Plus I only had 1 picture I wanted to use. :) Head on over to Brownie Scraps to pick up SWAK! And while you're at Flutterbye Faery Designs' store take a look at and pick up Giggles. This is such a fun girly kit. I am in love with really girl kits! Take a look at this kit full of pinks and greens. I made a layout using this kit for the Cinnamon Bear and Chocolate Challenge. In this challenge you are given either 2 or 3 layouts and you need to combine them into one. I LOVE this challenge because I love to scraplift layouts and this one challenges me to scraplift several layouts into one. Here's what I came up with. To see the other layouts, click the link above. I hope you will participate in this challenge!

Brownie Scraps has a fun event planned! Check out this flier for all the details. You can also find more information HERE.
