Color Challenge at Stuff to Scrap and a chance to win!

Every month there's a new color challenge at Stuff to Scrap. A designer picks a color palette and you can either create a mini kit to share with everyone or scrap a layout using the mini kits or any other kit you have that uses those colors. I loved the colors of this month's challenge (I've liked other months too but have run out of time to play). All of a sudden I've picked up speed with my designing and can get mini kits done really quickly! That may mean that you get more kits from me each month!

One thing I love about the Stuff to Scrap challenges is that you get points for doing the challenges whether you use STS products or not. You get bonus points if you use our products. Once you get 500 points you get $5 to the store! Here are the colors for this month.

They looked like good love or valentine's colors to me so I made a mini called "Love n' Laughter." Here's a look at.
My mini is only free through the end of January. Then it heads into my store. Head to the forum and look up the color challenge to find the download link to this mini kit. And why not create a layout and start earning some points to get $5 to STS? And if you're aspiring designer, why not make a mini with these colors? And why not sign up for the designer darling contest that starts on 1/17? Maybe you could be the next designer at Stuff to Scrap!
That's right, you can win ANY 3 STS Designer Mega Collabs!
Creative Busy Hands blog is 2 years old and they are doing some giveaways... and Stuff To Scrap is a sponsor of one of the giveaways.
Check out the blog HERE for more information on how you can win. Good luck!

Another color challenge

I also participated in the Stuff to Scrap Color Challenge this month and made a mini kit for you. The colors were quite different than the colors at Brownie Scraps! These colors are very soft. I called my mini kit "Gentle Spring." I filled my kit with real flowers from Just Jaimee. She has some great commercial use flowers and leaves in her store at Divine Digital. Here's a preview of her flowers and leaves. Just Jaimee has great commercial use items in her store. You should check them out! Here's my freebie mini kit that I created. I hope you like it. Please let me see whatever layout you make with it! Also post your layout at Stuff to Scrap because you'll get points for completing challenges!

You can download this kit here.

Kelcey made a comment on my portion of the STS Blog Train Because I Said So and mentioned that it would be helpful to have the word "mum" included as word art. So I made up a word art to match my other word arts. I added the "mama" for other cultures but forgot about "mum." So sorry! If I forgot others just let me know. You can download this WA HERE. I did upload it on my blog as a png file so you can see if you can just right click and save as but I'm not sure that will work.

Happy Mother's Day today to those who celebrate Mother's Day today.

Color Challenge

Brownie Scraps has an Unbaked Brownie Challenge every month. Each month you are provided with a color palette and you can either create a mini kit, paper pack, element pack, alpha, etc or create a layout using the mini kits provided. I liked the color palette this month but it wasn't inspiring me to create a mini kit. I didn't have a theme. Finally I just decided to make a flowery swirly kit. So I call this kit "Flowers and Swirls." Here's a preview of the kit.You can download this freebie mini kit HERE. I'd love to see what you create with my kit.

A new mini kit

I was going to post today about a new kit from Marni Designs but so far it hasn't hit to store, so you're just going to have to wait a little while longer! It's worth waiting for!

Since it's April, that means a new color challenge (and lots of other new challenges too). I got inspired right away by the color challenge at Stuff to Scrap. When I saw the colors I immediately thought of primary colors and primary kids. I wanted to do a kit with crayons and things that looked like they were colored in with crayons. This is the first time that I've done the elements first and then tried to figure out the papers! Generally the papers are the ones that are the easiest! Here is my freebie mini kit. It's called Color My World. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment to tell me what you think of it.

You can download it HERE. When you use it, post your layout at Stuff to Scrap in the color challenge gallery so I can see what you did with my kit!

I have to share!!

My daughter just took her first steps today! I was so excited to watch her do it and so proud of her. I'm bursting at the seams! I'm so excited that I'm sharing a freebie with you! I was going to post it in a couple days but I'm in the mood to celebrate! Stuff to Scrap has a color challenge each month where you can create a mini kit or a layout using the color palette. I fell in love with the colors this month the minute I saw them and got my kit done right away. This is only my second kit! When I saw the colors, I was drawn to funky elements so I called the kit "Funkalicious." This mini kit turned out to be not so mini! I was scrapping with it and realized that it was hard to scrap with so I added some solid colored papers. Hope you enjoy this freebie kit. I'd love to see a layout that you create with it. Go over to Stuff to Scrap and post your layout there in the color challenge album. Please leave some love if you download this kit. I'm still nervous about my designing since I'm so new at it!

Here's a layout that I made using this kit. Here's my cutie patootie that just walked for the first time today! This picture was taken when she was about 6 months old. Sigh, they grow so fast!

A new blog

I have recently fallen in love with digital scrapbooking. I started by finding digital scrapbooking freebies and now I'm obsessed with it! I've made an album for my mom's cousin Grace who is the closest family we have in town and who has celebrated everything with us throughout the years. I made desktop calendars for my mom, sister, husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law. I've started making a small flip book of a scavenger hunt that my husband and I did not too long ago. I got to wondering why it took me so long to get into scrapbooking (I didn't do a ton of paper scrapbooking either) but now I know that I just didn't have the right subjects to scrap about! There is nothing more fun than creating scrapbook pages of my two babies: Natalie and Noah! They make pages perfect!

My big project is to make Natalie and Noah each an album of firsts. Their first birthday is coming up soon so my plan is to scrap firsts in their first year of life and make them into a book. If you read by card making blog, you may know that I need challenges to spark my creativity. I have found several digital scrapbooking forums that host a boat load of challenges. I decided to become a member of Stuff to Scrap and complete their challenges. (I've also done another challenge at Go Digital Scrapbooking but I've only done one there!) One of the reasons I joined Stuff to Scrap is that they allow you to post layouts done with kits from outside their own community. I like to use all different items in my scrapbook pages so that was a plus! Both sites (and many others too) have such great challenges. It has really motivated me to get started on the albums for my twins.

One of the challenges I participated in was the Color Challenge. I made this page here:

The papers and the brown bow came from a mini kit from Digi Designs by Nicole; button, ribbon and frame came from a kit by Scraps by Andrea; other buttons came from a kit by This Little Missy; the glitter scatter is from JIC Creations; the curve template is from Delicious Scraps; and the font is from Font for Peas and it is called Pea Missie with a Marker. I just had to scrap these pictures of Natalie! Her faces while eating avocado were just priceless. Neither she nor Noah like avocado still to this day.

I'll be back later to post more layouts that I made based on challenges. I should find some lunch while my babies are napping!
